Bandung Day 2
Wednesday, October 10, 2012 , 0 Comment
It was a cool morning and i woke up 6.30am SG time. Imagine it was only 5.30 in the morning in Bandung! During the stay, we followed SG time for our alarm and eating time therefore we were always early and hungry. The hotel served basic breakfast and makan ala-kadar aje while waiting for Bagus to pick us up at 9am, we decided to swim. The last time i swam when we went to Batu Pahat water recreation centre in 2010. I was superbly excited to "swim" in the pool. Hahahaha i waddled here and there.. Mr H can swim! He did froggy and breaststroke..nanti bila dah sah and honeymoon kat private villa bali, he will teach me to swim..hehehe.. Our 1st stop is Pasar Baru, shopping heaven for the makciks, Bride-To-Be and bargain-hunters. From what i found, there are 8 levels.. We spent 4 hours in there and it is not enough. There were along of bargaining, choosing and buying. My main focus was to buy cadar pengantin and kain for my 4 bridesmaid. Alhamdullilah we were able to get those items but i wasn't able to buy tudung for my aunties and cousins. You can purchase alot of stuff there.. i got myself a "jegging" because it came in my size and it cost me Rp100,000 which was only S$14! Then the lace and satin was at Rp 25,000/mtr and Rp12,500/mtr respectively. I bought 8mtr of lace and 9mtr of satin which sums to Rp 375,000 equivalent to S$50! Cheapppp cannn? There were alot of designs to choose from. I did not know which shop to go to because the whole level 2 are full of them.. Everyone is giving good prices and service. At the same time, i bought 5 bags for Rp 250,000 which is Rp50,000 each. Sangat-Sangat Murah!!! Hello S$7, kat bugis pon tak jual that harga hokay! Another thing i wanna highlight, Bandung People will always think that you are from Malaysia. They would asked you which part of Malaysia you were from or ask for RM1 or RM2 for oleh-oleh. Beforehand i informed Mr H and his parents to be prepared.. Yelah.. kalau kita bilang kita from SG nanti dorang "ketuk"kita because our currency is stronger. Now Mr H believes me.. he always said that i like to prasangka.. but in certain situation, prevention is better than cure kan? You know we were busy handling out rupiah that we forgot that it is already lunch time and we forgo our lunch.. So hungry! Every time we're on the road, we would stuck in the jam that is Bandung for you. Actually Bagus was planning to bring us to Tangkuban Parahu, the national pride where every tourists would visit the active volcano but due to time and the road congestion, we could not make it because by the time we had our late lunch/early dinner, it was getting dark. The route to Tangkuban Parahu is like going to Genting or Cameron highland because we went round and round up the mountain. There were fresh flowers and strawberry picking area. There is a popular restaurant called Kampung Daun before heading to Tangkuban Parahu. It is a very scenic location and many tourist dines there. The food is delicious.. We ordered alot of food but the amount is only S$60++. The place is amazing.. The setting was perfect... Let the pictures do the talking :)

After kampung daun, we went to one of the FACTORY OUTLET called Rumah Mode (pronounce: Mo-dey). We were not allowed to take pictures so posing kat luar ajelah. The place is huge! Two buildings, one housed the shoes, bags, accesories and the other building was filled with clothes! From F21, Zara, Calvin Klein, A/X, GAP and many many more. I was informed that some of the clothes were plainly imitation so need to use your eagle eyes to spot it. Let's just say, i did not intend to buy anything, yelah my size susah mau cari BUT i managed to find 2 Zara pants and it fits me nicely! Yay! Each cost me S$18! I paid by debit.. hehehe.. I'm a happy girl.
Oh! Btw.. Bandung is well-known for the many FOs.. There are Secrets, Grande, Blossoms etc.
It is really a shopping and Food Heaven there. You know i'm considering to go there for my Honeymoon!
This picture don't do any justice. The shopping for the day. The 3 neon traffic bags, for my sisters and I! The purple packaging that's my 4 Bridesmaid's kain. Yup, paper bag from Rumah mode. Labels: BANDUNG, Trip of the year |
